Manufactured from high tensile
Polished Bronze, the bodies are forged and the forks are machined from solid bar stock for extra strength.
Stainless steel clevis pins come standard, although bronze pins can be special ordered.
These rigging screws & toggles exceed the breaking loads of most modern high strength wire ropes, yet they are equally suited to more traditional materials.
Supplied in a polished bronze finish, these fine hardware pieces have the strength and beauty to suit all types of craft.

Bronze is a favored material to use for traditional boat fittings because it takes casting, machining, and polishing very well, is relatively strong and incredibly resistant to salt water.
While bronze is often more expensive initially than other marine grade materials, this expense is easily recovered through the high strength and long life bronze provides.
It is very important that the correct mounting hardware is used to attach each fitting to your boat.
In the rigorous marine environment it is not enough that the fastenings themselves are of marine quality, they must also be close in the Galvanic Series to the metal the fitting is made from.
If they are not similar, the less noble metal will corrode.
The following information shows the combinations that are suitable and those that are not.
For bronze fittings, silicon bronze or stainless steel fasteners are suitable, brass fasteners are not suitable.
For brass fittings, brass or silicon bronze fasteners are suitable, stainless steel is not suitable.
In addition to matching the proper materials, it is also important to use the appropriate type of fastener.
In most cases, fittings that will take a heavy prolonged or snatch load should be bolted rather than screwed, with reinforcing pads underneath to spread the load.
