This Norwegian company's founder, Rognald Brusletto was born in Geilo in 1861. He was a farmer, knifemaker and industrial pioneer. He established his knife-making business in 1896 and, over many years of patient craftsmanship, the Brusletto name has evolved into a hallmark of Norwegian quality.

Knives have long been used in Norway both as tools and as ornaments. The history of iron-ore mining on the Hardangervidda mountain plateau goes back 1500 years, to when the manufacturing of swords, sickles, knives, scythes and axes first developed as a craft. Brusletto is part of that distinguished history.

Tradition, quality and design have been their hallmarks for a century.

Nowadays they manufacture knives designed for a wide range of hunting, fishing and recreational purposes.

The quality of the steel, the sharpness and shape of the blade, and the craftsmanship of the sheath are the inherent characteristics that together make up a genuine Brusletto knife.

People sometimes ask how our green boat gear can be classified as truly "green"? After all, there is no such thing as organic steel, brass, or aluminum.

Like most things on greenboatstuff.com, we try to envision the impact our gear has on the world around us as it is made, used, and ultimately lost or discarded.

In addition, we believe a product you only have to buy once in your lifetime is much greener than a cheaper version you will replace countless times.

With this in mind we offer an assortment of high quality products that are designed for you to pass on to the next generation.

You won't find cheap, disposable stuff here, just the best boat gear we can find that makes a minimal impact on the environment.

In every case, we try to carry boat gear made and finished with materials that do as little harm as possible.

As a result we avoid chrome, nickel and zinc plated items due to the impact the plating process often has on the environment.

The same goes for chemical-based painted items, plastics, nylons and other synthetics.

While natural fibers, wood, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, bronze, and the other materials we prefer to carry are not always entirely earth-friendly, we believe they represent the best choices available at this time.

Durable, sturdy and gathered at the bottom for extra strength

Meets State Lift Laws - up to 45 lbs.

Many communities have banned the use of PE plastic bags for yard waste removal, because polyethylene-based plastic bags can not be composted with the yard waste or burned

These bags made from renewable crops are preferable to either bags made from trees or petroleum

BioBag Lawn & Leaf bags can be set at curbside for up to 12 days before the collected waste will begin to break the bag down. We dont recommend putting wet yard waste in the bags as that speeds up composition to 3-4 days.

For “fresh” food waste for your backyard compost and an odor-free kitchen, try using our BioBag 3 gallon waste bags with our ventilated Max Air food waste bucket.

Ventilated on all sides, including the top and bottom.

Attractive for countertop placement

Hinged for hanging inside the door of your kitchen sink

Food waste builds up bacterial odor quickly when collected in a solid pail because of the heat and moisture that can not escape when placed in these closed containers.

Many modern collection pails contain charcoal filters or other devices to help mask the odor, but do little to slow the “rotting process”.

BioBags breathe naturally, allowing heat and moisture to escape or evaporate.

This process allows food waste to dry, thus reducing the rate of bacterial build-up which causes odor.

When BioBags are used with the Max Air, the consumer has the ultimate system for food waste collection.

Perfect for collecting food scraps and other small waste.

Made from plants, vegetable oils, and Mater-Bi bioplastic.

Helps reduce pests, mold, and mildew when paired with Breathable BioBags.

Ventilated on all sides, including the top and bottom, minimizing odor and wetness that leads to rotting food waste.

MaxAir buckets are attractive for countertop placement and are also hinged if you wish to hang the bucket inside the door of your kitchen sink.
